Question: Where were you born?
Answer: High Point,
North Carolina Question: What is your day job? Answer:
Executive Director, Christian Ministries to the United
Nations (a ministry of the North American Mission
Board, SBC) Question: How did you become a Christian? Answer:
As a successful businessman in California, I had just begun to establish new personal goals when a voice in the recesses
of my mind said very clearly, "So you plan and achieve, plan and achieve, and then you die--so what!" I knew
the first part was true, but what about the "then you die--so what!"? Was working hard and making lots of
money--being successful by the world's standards--what life was really about? At that moment, for the first time,
it seemed very shallow and empty. What was the real purpose in life? That was the moment that God began the process
of drawing me to Himself. It was then that I began to think about Him and want to know more about Him. I believed
who He was, but had no personal relationship with Him. I began attending different churches, wanting to learn more about
the teachings in the Bible. It was in Santa
Cruz, California in 1988 that I understood that Jesus
Christ was the eternal Son of God and the Lord of all Creation who came to die for MY sins...and I desperately needed (and
wanted) Him as MY Lord. I placed myself under His authority, as the Lord of my life, and received His gift of forgiveness.
Because I know who He is and whose I am, I now have a heart's desire to love, honor and serve Him with my life.
Because I am now at peace with Him, I can truly be at peace with myself, and have peace with others. Now, I know the
real purpose in life! Question: Tell a few of your
favorites? (Movies, songs, books, food, Bible verse)

me. Favorite food: Yes! So many favorites, so much diversity--praise God for taste buds!

my family; exercise; sing; yard work
